DEVIL YOU KNOW: 'It's Over' Video Released
October 29, 2014"It's Over", the new video from DEVIL YOU KNOW — the creative union of Howard Jones (ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE),Francesco Artusato (ALL SHALL PERISH) and John Sankey (DEVOLVED) — can be seen below. The clip was directed by Ramon Boutviseth, who has previously worked with TRIVIUM, NONPOINT, DARKEST HOUR, INCUBUS and ALL THAT REMAINS, among others. The track is taken from DEVIL YOU KNOW's debut album, "The Beauty Of Destruction", which sold around 6,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 45 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Commented Jones: "'It's Over' is a song that struck a huge chord for me when we were in the studio recording 'The Beauty Of Destruction'. It portrays a side of DEVIL YOU KNOW that in some ways is different than what we're known for, yet comes naturally for us as a band and individuals. The video gives it an unexpected, new life."
"The Beauty Of Destruction" was released on both physical and digital formats on April 25 in Europe and April 29 in North America via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The CD was produced by Logan Mader (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, GOJIRA, DEVILDRIVER, SOULFLY) and mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, SOULFLY). Artwork for the album was created by noted painter and illustrator Travis Smith (OPETH, DEVIN TOWNSEND).
Regarding how DEVIL YOU KNOW came together, Jones told Australia's Loud magazine: "I had taken some time away from music. I wasn't sure of what I wanted to do. One thing was for certain: I didn't want to join anything that sounded remotely like KILLSWITCH. When I heard what John and Francesco had been writing, it was immediate for me. It made me want to be creative and go back out there and prove myself again."
Added Artusato: "Three, four years ago John and I started writing some songs for fun. Then we got to a point, I don't remember exactly when, we had ten or 15 songs. We started thinking about singers; who was available and people we knew. I think John e-mailed Howard; we e-mailed Howard, like, three songs. We thought that was our first choice… And then we heard back from him a week later or something. Saying, 'I really dig the stuff, let's do this'. A few months later, he flew down to L.A. and started working on the stuff."
DEVIL YOU KNOW's touring lineup is completed by guitarist Roy Lev-Ari and BLEEDING THROUGH bassist Ryan Wombacher.
